Public Meeting Success - hundreds of votes and fun too

Thanks to everyone who turned up to our public meeting and to our wonderful singer, Rachel Rabin and our MC, Erich McElroy. Not only did the sun smile on us (more or less) but we attracted keen interest and collected a lot more signatures and votes, which took the number of votes cast in our public opinion poll to 460 (average 3 votes per person).
And the result of the question 'What do We Want After Borders'? Well perhaps not surprisingly given that people are still in mourning for Borders, the order of preference of those who took part in the combined online and offline vote was as follows:
1. Bookstore with regular cultural events.
2. Cultural Centre (gallery, lecture theatre, event spaces).
3. Craft Workshops and Stalls for Small and Artisan Businesses.
